Title: From Plan to Global: Building a Business That Works

Case Analysis by Andrian Christian Paul Gadin

INTRODUCTION

In today’s fast-paced digital world, having a solid plan is key to business success. But with so many terms flying around—digital marketing plans, action plans, business model canvas, and even global strategy—it can get a little overwhelming. Don’t worry! In this blog post, I’ll break them down in a simple and relatable way.

 A. What is a Digital Marketing Plan?

A Digital Marketing Plan is like a GPS for promoting your business online. It outlines how you'll use digital tools—like social media, search engines, emails, and websites—to reach your audience and grow your brand.

Example:
Imagine you’re opening a coffee shop. Your digital marketing plan might include creating a Facebook page, running Instagram ads, and sending out a monthly email newsletter with special offers.

Key elements include:

  • Goals (like increasing website visits or sales)

  • Target audience

  • Platforms to use (Facebook, Google, etc.)

  • Budget

  • Timeline

B. What is an Action Plan?

An Action Plan is your step-by-step guide to getting things done. It breaks down your bigger goals into smaller, doable tasks—with deadlines and assigned responsibilities.

Example:
If your goal is to launch a new product, your action plan might include tasks like “design packaging by June 1,” “shoot product photos by June 10,” and “launch website by June 20.”

Why it matters:
It keeps your team on track and helps avoid confusion or missed deadlines.

C. What is a Business Model Canvas?

A Business Model Canvas is like a visual blueprint of how your business works. It shows all the key parts of your business on one page—like who your customers are, what you offer them, how you make money, and what resources you need.

It includes 9 parts:

  1. Customer Segments

  2. Value Propositions

  3. Channels

  4. Customer Relationships

  5. Revenue Streams

  6. Key Resources

  7. Key Activities

  8. Key Partnerships

  9. Cost Structure

Example:
For an online tutoring service, your canvas would show:

  • Customers: Students

  • Value: Easy-to-access learning

  • Revenue: Monthly subscription fees

  • And so on...

D. What is a Global Strategy?

A Global Strategy is how a business plans to grow and compete in international markets. It’s about more than just selling abroad—it involves adapting your product, marketing, and operations to different cultures, laws, and customer needs.

Example:
A fast-food chain might serve burgers worldwide but change its menu slightly in each country to suit local tastes (like offering vegetarian options in India).

Why it’s important:
Global strategies help businesses expand wisely while respecting cultural differences and maximizing profits.

  2. A social media strategy or marketing dashboard screenshot

  3. A world map with arrows showing global business expansion

Conclusion:
Understanding these four concepts—digital marketing plan, action plan, business model canvas, and global strategy—is essential if you're dreaming of starting or growing a successful business. With a clear plan and strategy, even the biggest goals can become reality!
